Why did I just mow through a whole bag of chips?

It’s not uncommon for people to call or email because they’re looking for the best weight loss program in Encino, Northridge and the Valley. In addition to coaching, I feel that part of my job is to be an educator. That goes into being the “best.”

So, I try to address common frustrations, like this one:

The problem….

Even I have done it, and I’m a food coach: lost myself in a bag of junk food in front of the TV.

But it’s not the saltiness that addicts you. It’s not even that satisfying crunch.

You already know that chips are almost completely devoid of any vitamins or minerals, and mainly just offer calories, salt and fat. But here’s what that means in terms of their addictiveness: As the first chip hits your stomach, your body signals your brain saying, “Hm that’s weird, I’m not getting any nutrients. Keep feeding me!”

The more chips you eat, the stronger this unconscious signal gets.

Nature didn’t account for foods so devoid of nourishment but so full of flavor.

So how do you flip this biological truth around, and make it start working for you, instead of against you?

Depending on your body type and history, the answer changes. But I want to help you in person. Right now I’m offering free consultations:
