If you don’t like to eat your veggies, I have a trick for you!

Look, we need veggies. They are our most vital nutrition resources.

Think of it this way; when we were cavepeople, good old hunter-gatherers, we evolved into a plant-rich environment. For thousands of years we didn’t even know how to make spears and arrows so we couldn’t even catch and kill animals for food! Mother Nature ain’t stupid. She surrounded us with food that would sustain us and meet our nutrition needs; plants.

So, while you don’t need to be vegan or vegetarian to be healthy, you are going to derive the majority of your nutrition from plants, not animal products or processed foods.

Plus, a plant-based approach to eating is a much better way to manage your weight and avoid chronic illness.

But what do you do if you hate veggies?

Answer: You make smoothies.

Smoothies are a great way to take in veggies without even tasting them! You can bury a boatload of kale, spinach or chard (even broccoli, but my wife thinks this is disgusting) in a smoothie and not even notice it!

And dark green, leafy veggies are incredibly nutrition, chock-full of vitamins and minerals.

So, in effect, a smoothie is like a salad masquerading as a shake! Super nutritious but super tasty, too!

Here’s an example of a great and healthy smoothie:

1 cup kale

1 cup frozen blueberries

1 cup almond milk

3/4 banana

2 scoops protein powder

A few almonds or walnuts

A touch of cinnamon for taste

A splash of water to keep it from being too thick

And that’s it! I prefer organic produce, but that’s up to you.

Give it a shot!
