“Arena has changed MY LIFE!”

I love the vote of confidence and am very proud that she feels that way. But the truth is that Nora has changed her OWN LIFE. The path that led her to change was personal training and group training in Northridge with Will and Phillip, but the effort, the willingness, the commitment, the supportability were all hers.

Most people in this world are struggling with their fitness. They have challenging schedules, people to care for, businesses and households to run, children to raise, careers. There are so many demands on their time that it’s hard to take care of themselves without feeling like they have to sacrifice something else important. Or, as in Nora’s case, there’s an injury that is wreaking havoc on her ability to move and function as she used to.

On top of that, there’s much confusion out there about the best and most effective exercise and nutrition programs that it’s had to discern truth from fiction. So, people don’t know what to do and where to turn for help. Time passes. Health slips away. Self-esteem plummets.

We understand. We’ve been there. It’s hard to manage your own fitness, your self care. You need a path.

For Nora, the path was group training in Northridge at Arena Fitness, a touch of personal training, and nutrition coaching with our 28 Day KICK START. From there, she did the work.

In her words:

“Arena has changed my life! They have helped me battle my disability and learn to live a more full life with my restrictions.

  • Only lifting 3-5 lbs to lifting 10-15lbs!

  • Not being able to hold plank to plyo-pushups!

  • 13 pound weight loss with exercising and balanced eating!

  • Friendly atmosphere!

  • I look forward to coming everyday!

  • A deep and sincere THANK YOU to Phillip and Will!

  • It’s my HAPPY PLACE!”

But that’s only half of the story!

Here’s how Phillip Anderson, one of our lead trainers and our Yoga Coordinator sees it:

“I can honestly say Nora comes in with an attitude ready to try anything despite her injury. She is kinda hard on herself but it allows her to push during class. She takes group training classes and did the KICK START last round and has had great results.

Nora used to have a habit of feeling sorry for herself and always said “sorry” when she couldn’t completed the movement or had to drop the weight down. We have worked on that. She no long says “sorry” and sees her injury as something to overcome and when she does fall back to that old mindset she reminds herself of the victories she has had in the gym.”

We are very, very proud of you, Nora. You’ve pushed through limiting beliefs, improved your mindset, embraced the challenges brought on by your injury and have made incredible progress. Thank you for taking personal responsibility for your health and being so coachable!
