In her words:

“I think the main reason TDL has been successful for me is because I don’t feel deprived. It’s all about portion control and the correct # of portions. But if I’m craving bread or something crunchy like chips, I’ll account for those carbs in my meals. Other meal plans omit foods altogether but that isn’t a realistic way to approach food for me.

I’ve followed other macro diets (along with countless others) before but TDL converts macros into units that’s pretty easy to remember. Once you recognize basic foods and how to convert into units, it’s not difficult to follow. That being said, it does take effort and diligence. What you get out of it is what you put into it. So yes, it will take some time to measure out foods or meal prep from time to time but when I started getting busy mid week, I definitely didn’t regret spending an afternoon shopping and cooking food ahead of time.”
